Wooh March is just flying by! St. Patty’s Day is tomorrow and if your Irish or your Irish just for tomorrow before you head out to celebrate you have time to learn the traditional version of
“Danny Boy”
Oh Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are callin’
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side.
The summer’s gone, and all the leaves are fallin’.
It’s you, It’s you, must go and I must bide.
But come back, when summer’s in the meadows.
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow.
And I’ll be here, in sunshine or in shadows.
Oh Danny Boy, oh Danny Boy, I love you so.
And if you come, when all the flowers are fallin’
If I am dead, as dead I well may be
Then come and find the place where I am lyin’
And kneel and say, an Ave there for me
And I shall hear, though soft your tread above me
And all my dreams, will warmer sweeter be
If you fail to tell me that you love me
Then I shall rest in peace till you come home to me
But if I live, and should you die for Ireland
Let not your dyin’ breaths be all for me
But say a prayer, that God will bless Dear Ireland
I know he’ll hear, and he shall set her free
And I shall take the pike that you have nearest
And strike a blow, though weak my blow may be
But it will help, the cause for which you died, my love
Oh Danny Boy, oh Danny Boy, I love you so
learn it love it & I’ll be singing it with you tomorrow!..
have a great weekend !
